The 32-year-old Grammy-winning hitmaker stars in the film, which will accompany her May 30album of the same name. The project wasdriven by the songs on the album's tracklist. When it was time to film a component for "Walk of Fame," Cyrus wanted to actually film on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. During a Thursday, May 22 appearance onJimmy Kimmel Live, she revealed that there was one issue with that plan: Her team didn't have the budget to reserve the space. She came up with an alternative method to get the shot and decided to film it at night when no one else would be out. However, doing so resulted in her sustaining a "brutal" infection that made her knee "disintegrate." "I caught something," she confirmed toJimmy Kimmel, who noted that she was "lucky [she] didn't get a hypodermic needle in [her] body." Cyrus continued, saying, "Because I filmed this video in October, and by November on Thanksgiving, I was put in ICU." The "Flowers" star stressed that her tenure in the intensive care unit [which treats seriously injured patients] was "just for a moment" since the less-serious emergency room was full of Thanksgiving-related visitors. What was wrong with her? "My leg began to disintegrate ... around the kneecap area. And then the doctor goes, 'Do you have any idea why you would have such a brutal infection on your kneecap?' " she recalled. Miley Cyrus/Instagram Cyrus said that she "just saw [herself]" and simulated rolling around on the ground. "I had to tell him," she said. "To have a surgeon look at you and say, 'Yuck...' They open up cadavers. They see inside the guts of humans, and they're looking at me, telling me I'm disgusting. And they do brain operations!" Although she recovered from the injury, Cyrus is unlikely to forget the experience filming at the iconic landmark. "Have you been to the Walk of Fame in the middle of the night?" she asked Kimmel. "I thought it was my last day." After sharing the story, Cyrus expressed some regret: "I wanted this video to be so fabulous and now I just told everyone such a filthy [story]..." However, Kimmel presented a positive spin, saying that she "nearly gave [her] life" while filming it. "I did so they'd better go see it," Cyrus quipped. As for the film's budget, Cyrus initially said that she had "a big dream and a small budget" before correcting herself to say, "I had a pretty good budget, but I spent it all on my clothes." Jimmy Kimmel Live/YouTube Fans who do decide to watch the movie shouldn't expect a traditional film with a plot. "The music is the story. Every song is storytelling," Cyrus explained to Kimmel. She continued, saying, "Even though this has become very kind of psychedelic and over the top [like] everything that I do, but at the end of it, really the heart of it is just the music. Really, the storytelling. So there was no need for characterization because I'm the character. And I never want to become something or someone that I'm not." Miley Cyrus/Instagram "Basically my movie has no story," she said, noting that she "wanted to warn" everyone. Her approach to the film reflects on what she loves about music: "That it's open to everyone's individual interpretation of what it means to them." "Something that could be about my mother can be about your friend, could be about your boyfriend. And that's what the story is about. I wanted it to be blank enough that people can infuse what they want to see in this visual album while I'm fully satisfied. And I'm really proud of it," she gushed. While on the late-night show, Cyrus also performed"More to Lose,"one of the songs off the album. Dressed in black, she belted out the song with the support of a live band in front of some dramatic lighting. Read the original article onPeople
