Throughout his four-decade career in Hollywood, actor and hostMario Lopez, 51, has taken on many roles. Some fans of theSaved by the Bellstar may be unaware that Lopez tried out to be the host for the popular game show,The Price Is Right, afterBob Barkerleft the series. TV Insiderreported that Lopez's 2007 auditionPrice Is Rightepisode was recently leaked on YouTube. In the 20-minute video, Lopez showed off his hosting skills by interacting with the show's contestants. Throughout the episode, Lopez encouraged the contestants to correctly guess the right price on the items up for bid. Barker was eventually replaced byDrew Careyas the show's host. Several fans flocked to the YouTube comments section to share their thoughts about Lopez'sPrice Is Rightaudition. "Mario did a good job hosting, I think he would've been a great host,"wrote a commenter. "Mario had really good rapport with the contestants. He didn't have the same 'boss' energy as Bob, but matches his enthusiasm. High energy, moves the game along at a nice clip. Would have been a much better choice than Drew, though I suspect George Hamilton would have been the best pick,"commented another. "Mario didn't do a bad job. Definitely better than Drew Carey. With a few more episodes I think he would have had it down,"shared a different YouTube user. Lopez received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in October 2024. Lopez spoke about the experience during a March 2025 interview on theJennifer Hudson Show. "It was a little bit surreal. It happened to be on my birthday. So that made it extra special," said Lopez during the interview. He also said that he felt emotional about the situation because he has been in the industry for four decades. "I got a little choked up and stuff because I've been doing this stuff for like 40 some years. Since I was a little kid. It was neat," said Lopez.
