Eva does not want to go to fire in "Survivor 48" finale deleted scene (exclusive)

TheSurvivor 48finalewas filled with dramatic and emotional moments, perhaps no more emotional and dramatic than whenEva Ericksonstruggled while practicing for her impeding fire-making battle againstKamilla Karthigesu. Frustrated at her lack of success, Eva screamed and cried so loudly that bothJoe HunterandKyle Fraseroffered to take her place in the contest. But she was insistent on fighting through it. "This has to be me. I have to learn to do it myself. I have to do this," she said. And shediddo it, eventually besting Kamilla at fire, even after another emotional mid-contest moment when Eva watched her carefully-crafted fire almost completely go out. But an exclusive deleted scene from the finale shows the final four earlier that day preparing for the last immunity challenge, with Eva commenting on her burning desire (get it?) to avoid fire-making at all costs. CBS The scene begins with Kamilla reading the Tree Mail offering clues to the final challenge: "Round and round and so it goes, anxieties keep growing higher. A sudden lapse of concentration, and you might be making fire." Eva correctly deduces that the clues point to the final immunity competition being theSurvivorclassic Simmotion. She also offers a pep talk to her tribe mates. "Our last challenge," she marvels to the group. "No matter what, this is our last challenge. Let's just have some freaking fun, guys." But after Kyle points out the spoils of winning ("This is how you plead your case right here") Eva considers the alternative: "Yeah," she responds. "I don't want to get fired." Of course, that is exactly what happened. But in this pre-challenge scene, Eva is still attacking success. "I am so ready for this final push," she says in a confessional interview. "I am ready to rip. This is the last challenge I get to compete in. I'm going to put it all on the line. I'm going to put my entire body, my heart, everything into this challenge. I hope that I can pull out a win." She's not the only one psyching herself up for the impending contestant. "I really hope that I can pull out this final immunity challenge," says Kamilla. "It would be such a relief to be able to know that I'm guaranteed the final three if I could win that individual immunity today. And that's all I'm focusing on right now. I'm just thinking about trying to win the final challenge today." Joe is, of course, no stranger to competition… or winning. "Today is by far the biggest challenge, biggest stakes, largest consequences," he notes. "I love being right in the pressure cooker." And then there is Kyle, who went on to win both the challenge and the season. "Winning this challenge is about being a competitor, giving it your all, pushing yourself to your limits," Kyle says. "But at the end of the day, I want to steer this game my own way." That you did, Kyle. That you did. Check out the exclusive deleted scene for yourself at the top of this article.
